Mei Ling has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 7 years as a senior officer with ASIC where she led the licensing and surveillance teams. She has a strong research and analysis background, having previously worked for information and research houses, stockbrokers, Roy Morgan Research and Ibis World.

In 1998 Mei Ling founded Know Compliance as an innovative, independent compliance and risk management consultancy. She is an experienced compliance committee member and Compliance Manager and provides input to senior management and boards on compliance, risk management and governance issues.

She has been assessed as competent by ASIC to be a Responsible Manager for listed and unlisted licence holders and has consulted to industry bodies including CPA Australia. ASIC has also approved Mei Ling’s appointment as external Compliance Consultant to companies which had to provide Enforceable Undertakings. Her experience includes AFSL hearings and being an expert witness at Court.

Mei Ling has trained licensees’ senior management and staff on compliance and risk management and has lectured on corporate governance, compliance and risk management for educational institutions. She has been a sessional lecturer at RMIT University and was an Adjunct Research Fellow, Monash University, Department of Business Law and Taxation. She is the author of several business books and business information articles published in academic and business journals and has presented papers at financial services conferences.
